This is a family festival and many of the visitors are children. Wondering how to express the deer with respect to the plant samples in the display, I found a wonderful photo on the web of a deer actually eating deer lichen. Good for children to see.
I've written to the photographer: Kelly, on wunderground.com and flickr.com and have yet to receive an answer. His photos are CC with attribution
