I submitted the following to the Google Project 10 to the 100th. See the video in my introduction. See also, afterthought.
- Your idea's name (maximum 50 characters)
- Please select a category that best describes your idea.
Everything else: Sometimes the best ideas don't fit into any category at all.
- What one sentence best describes your idea? (maximum 150 characters)
Google ad-PSA on climate change, market researched, links to 5-fold Expanding Consciousness Game, with inner and outer synergy, we prevent crises.
- Describe your idea in more depth. (maximum 300 words)
Count the steps on one hand: ad, issue, research, game, synergy.
- Every 10th google ad is a public service announcement (PSA) with a quote and or link.
- Alert people to James Hansen, Director of Goddard Institute for Space Studies G8 video or Al Gore about climate change and what we can and must do about it.
- Marketing research determines the kinds of ads and games for different circumstances and how to be effective. The idea is to expose and motivate the worldwide public into doing something about climate change. If we don't succeed, everything else is irrelevant in the next 50 years.
- Game layout shows the structure of five brain cells raised from separate 3D (space) and 4D (time) to 5D (expanded consciousness) synergy. Given geometric certitude, consciousness expands naturally. The player is presented with five independent solutions to the climate crisis, selected at random (subject to supernatural guidance if possible). The framework connecting the dots of the icosidodecahedron encourages synergistic thinking. The player then arranges the solutions to work together and finds the whole is greater than the parts. For brief example, say solutions are dog, tiger, purifier, platform, and sales. I create a business plan to make a conservation zone for the tiger territory, naturally purifying the water and other resources by not polluting them, providing safe drinks for my dog when we go on safari, paying the zone's owner for the trip.
- Synergy of the 2009 challenges and projects is the aim of the game. Game solutions are drawn at random from the Buckminster Fuller Challenge idea index, the 100 Google Projects, and other valuable green idea contests identified by market research. In time, the 5-fold unison game results feed back, providing increasingly complex levels of imaginative problem-solving.
- What problem or issue does your idea address? (maximum 150 words)
The major issue is climate change. The problem to be solved is evolution of individual and global consciousness. Google profits can be internally reinvested for the public good in PSA ads and market research for effective solutions.
Climate change is affected by many things in the world, which could be seen separately. Issues such as energy generation, health care, transportation, world government, environment, decline of species, wireless communications, and water politics impact climate change. We could probably include over half the issues submitted to the Google Project. Look at the number of issues identified, solutions proposed, and alternative inventions of the last 50 years. They are numerous and promising. But they are unconnected. Our consciousness and representation of it in global communication needs to expand and evolve to meet our needs and connect our solutions synergetically in software and wetware.
- If your idea were to become a reality, who would benefit the most and how? (maximum 150 words)
All google users would be potentially reached and moved to action, participating in sustainability, averting the climate crisis, increasing the likelihood that everyone on earth and all sentient beings from this time forward will be here to benefit.
Specifically brain/mind researchers, artificial intelligence researchers, and robot researchers would benefit in design. Deeper insight into the geometry of mind has unforeseen possibilities, the best of which is evolution of the species. Side benefits might include bridging communication gaps between species or between science and the arts.
Google's reinvestment in itself on behalf of public service benefits Google financially and users of the expanded capacities. It offsets lost revenue due to the PSA ads. Advertisers benefit from association with the public good. Gaia benefits from deeper engagement with global issues.
- What are the initial steps required to get this idea off the ground? (maximum 150 words)
1. Determine Google commitment: would it be every 10th, 100th, or 1000th ad?
2. Identify marketing research team or firm to act as project manager.
3. Outline a business plan. In association with financial and procedural plans, define game development, art, and web hosting.
4. Start prototype website of game (in progress at wholeo.net).
5. Locate climate experts and solutions.
- Describe the optimal outcome should your idea be selected and successfully implemented. How would you measure it? (maximum 150 words)
Optimally, we get people to think with expanded consciousness and be motivated to make decisions preventing climate crisis. Measure it by number of Google ads followed up, number and quality of game players, and successes of Buckminster Fuller challenge ideas, Google Projects, Superstruct games and other plans that we promoted. Market research would continue for 1-5 years to offer fine-tuning to the game process based on results. 50-year long-term outcome gross measure: did we avert global warming and prevent a disaster? Is this still a valuable process given the changes since its invention? Ultimately, the measure of success is what we can still measure in 50 years.
- I agree to Project 10^100's terms of service
Yes
- You may also submit 1 YouTube video (max 30 seconds long) explaining your project. Enter the URL of your YouTube video. (Note that I deleted the original entry # BTgXL3gYNL8 by mistake so this is the same video, uploaded with a different number. YouTube does not allow replacement videos.)
- If you'd like to recommend a specific organization, or the ideal type of organization, to execute your plan, please do so here. (maximum 50 words)
Ads/PSA: Google {or Adsense}. Climate resources: James Hansen, Al Gore. Marketing research such as Google, Greenfield /Belser or DoubleClick. Game development like Foldit, Superstruct, or World Game. Consciousness art/concepts: Caroling/wholeo.net. Solutions: Google Project, Buckminster Fuller Challenge Idea Index, Superstruct
- If my idea isn't chosen in this program, please contact me about organizations that are interested in funding it.
Yes
Instead of PSA, I probably should have said cause marketing. PSA relates to radio and TV broadcasting. The ads could possibly be in all kinds of media and would definitely be cause-related.Back to Google Project 10^100.
