Dec. 21 WINTER SOLSTICE, 3:58pm HT
From Dan Furst in the Universal Festival Calendar for December 1998 through
February 1999, Part 1:
"According to several sources, the Winter Solstice of 1998 is the moment when the Sun will begin moving into exact alignment with our Galactic Center. In more precise terms, this means that the center of the Sun will come into alignment with the galactic equator, that is, the center line of our Milky Way galaxy. This process actually began 11 years ago, 3 months after the Harmonic Convergence of 1987. The period of exact alignment between Sun and Galactic Center will last 3 years, until December 2001. Add to this another 11 years--during which the Sun will pass completely to the other side of the galactic equator --and we get the critical timeshift point of December, 2012. Whether this means that Dec. 21, 1998 actually marks the beginning of the Age of Aquarius--even the beginning of a new Great Year cycle of 25,920 years as determined by precession of the equinoxes--will be the subject of arcane discussion among people with very long eyes."
Asked about "the Sun will pass completely to the other side of the galactic
equator", Dan explains:
It takes 11 years for the Sun to pass from the dead-center point of alignment with the galactic center -- where it will be from now to 2001 -- to the point where the galactic center line does not pass through the Sun at all.See http://www.hermes3.net/ufc.htm.
